Project Funding Policy
1. Overview
Project Funding serves approved Youth With A Mission (YWAM) opens in a new window ministry Projects through charitable administration, oversight, donation processing, and receipting.
Project Funding operates in partnership with:
- Youth With A Mission (BC) Society (“YWAM BC”), responsible for ministry oversight and administration.
- YWAM Foundation, responsible for donation processing and charitable receipting.
2. Oversight and Accountability
YWAM BC retains ultimate authority and responsibility over all approved Projects. Projects operate under the supervision and oversight of approved YWAM operating locations and leadership structures.
3. Standards of Conduct
Projects are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with YWAM International’s Statement of Purpose, Core Beliefs, and Foundational Values opens in a new window
Project Funding reserves the right to address conduct concerns in order to protect the integrity of its mission and registered charitable status.
4. Independent Status
Individuals carrying out approved Projects operate as independent contractors and not employees of YWAM BC.
5. Fundraising and Donations
Projects may promote approved ministry work and invite donations through approved Project Funding methods. All fundraising activities must be truthful, transparent, and consistent with YWAM values and policies.
YWAM BC retains full authority and discretion regarding:
- Acceptance of donations
- Allocation and application of funds
- Oversight of Projects
- Compliance with CRA regulations
Acceptance of donations designated toward a Project does not obligate YWAM BC to disburse funds contrary to its charitable purposes, policies, or regulatory obligations.
6. Direct Donations to Individuals
Funds given directly to individuals or Projects outside approved Project Funding donation methods are not eligible for charitable tax receipts.
7. Reporting Requirements
Approved Projects must submit quarterly ministry and financial reports. Failure to maintain reporting requirements may result in delayed or suspended disbursements.
8. Use of Funds
All funds administered through Project Funding must be used solely for approved ministry activities.
9. Disbursements
Funds are normally disbursed monthly as donations are received, less the applicable 5% administration fee.
